temple square lights

This is from kaylee's class christmas recital. They sang a few songs and the kids looked so cute up there. They were so excited to see their families there cheering for them and clapping.
This year temple square wasn't as cold as it was last year, but still enough that we need good coats and gloves! The kids were good sports and let us see the lights and go look at the new nativities that they had up. The new part that they built on is so nice, especially for pictures.

8 years ago this was where we got engaged! Aaron took me to dinner up on top of the Joseph Smith building where he had a dozen long stem red roses delivered there. I saw the guy walk in with them, but thought he was going somewhere else. Never did I think they would be for me. He walked over to our table and my mouth just dropped open in surprise. They were beautiful and everyone was looking at us. We then went down to temple square where he ever so quietly suggested we take a carriage ride. I didn't realize this was all planned out, but I was soon to find out.

Instead of the carriage taking us around the block like everyone else, Aaron had arranged for it to take us up to Memory Grove by the capital building. We got out and walked around and we soon found ourselves under this gazibo. It was cold outside, but my nerves were starting to take over. He got down on one knee and starred into my eyes, which probably looked a little shocked. He got out this poem that he wrote and read it to me. It was beautiful. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the little box that most little girls dream they will get, where inside lies a ring. He got the ring and asked me if I would marry him and after my tearful yes, he placed it on my finger. It was the most beautiful ring ever (it should be, i picked it out:). Anyways, just thought i'd remind myself of that night and how amazing it was! Thanks babe, you're so wonderful and i'm so very grateful you're mine. My christmas wish came true!
