Hawaii

So our trip to hawaii was so much fun!  We had a good time eating good food, seeing old friends, and just vacating:)  This is the view from the Pali lookout over to the Kaneohe side of oahu.  It was beautiful.

This is the apartment complex that aaron was in over in Kaneohe.  We went over there for church on sunday and got to see some people that were in the ward when he served there.

Laie Temple where aaron was working.  It's been closed for a year and half and is supposed to reopen this fall.  The people sure are excited to get their temple back in working order.

This is one of the families that aaron baptized on his mission.  We went by and say them on sunday and then got together with them to have dinner on wednesday.  It was so much fun meeting them and we sure do appreciate them getting together with us.  They were fun to talk to and aaron loved getting to see them again.

We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) on thursday after aaron was totally done with work.  He was glad to be done and so was I.  We toured most of the villages and really had a good time.
At the PCC we ate at the Luau and had the best food ever!!!  This is the guys bringing out the pig that had been roasted.  They sang and danced during dinner and we had a good time.
It rained a few times while we were there, but nothing crazy.  I caught one rainbow and had to get a picture of it.
This was one of the churches that aaron served in in downtown honolulu.  It's such a pretty church and mostly outside.  The classrooms aren't inside like a regular building, but they are rooms that lead to common area outside.  It's hard to explain.

Our last day there we hit up the swap meet at aloha stadium, which was something we did when I was little and we lived there.  There are tons of vendors selling things and you can really find unique gifts there.  But after that we decided to go to Pearl Harbor and check out the Arizona.  It was such a cool experience going there and seeing something so historic.  The reverence that was felt there was very unique and getting to see the spot where ships were sunk and many men died, was humbling.  Thanks so to all our troops out there now defending our freedoms and also to those who have served in the past.

All in all we had a blast!  I truly enjoyed our time there and we just wanted to tell our families thank you so much for watching the kids for us.  They had a good time and we know they were in good hands.  It was so nice to get to come home and see their smiling faces and see how excited they were to have us back.  They mean everything to us.
