headed down south

Well, this last month has been crazy!!  July always goes by so fast and then august is here and the summer is over:(  We've had the 4th of july and the pioneer day that make things go fast, but then there has also been this thing we have been thinking about since the end of june that has also made this month go fast...

aaron got a new job and we are moving to Salt Lake City!!!  In june, aaron had a co-worker that got a job at Aetna insurance and told him about it.  We weren't interested at first, b/c we would have to move and aaron hadn't gotten his license yet for social work (which please keep him in your prayers, he still needs to pass his test).  But as we got to thinking about it, we decided to look more into it and see what was there.  They were bringing back about 50 or so positions that they had outsourced and were now going to be doing them in house.  They pay was more than he was making now and right before we got news of this job, we had been thinking about how we could pay back our student loans quicker and get our of debt.

We decided to apply and things have been moving since then.  He interviewed with them and a week later they sent us the offer and wanted to hire him.  So, now we are trying to sell our home here and are going to go see houses down there this weekend.  Not sure what will happen over this next month, but the Lord will guide us.  Aaron starts the 15th of august, and we're not sure where we'll be then.  My dad and aaron's aunt live down there, so he could go stay with them during the week till we move down.  Not the best situation, but workable. 

I'm just extremely thankful to the Lord for this new opportunity.  We'll be able to pay off some stuff and aaron will also be able to grow in his profession.  His new job title is Wellness Coach.  People call in and talk to him so that they can stop smoking, drinking etc. so that they can lower their insurance payments.  It's a new program that's starting be very popular.  People want to pay less for their insurance and this one way they can do that. 

Although i'm happy to have this new opportunity, i'm sad to go.  I really love logan and hope one day that we'll be back.  Living near family is so fun and my kids love it!!  But i'm also happy to be going  closer to my family.  My dad will be like 30 min. away.  I've never been able to live this close to my family.  I'm excited!  (plus now i won't have to drive so far to go to the scrapbook fair that's in sandy:)

This week i have been going crazy to get the house ready to list and show.  I listed it yesterday on the MLS for a flat fee.  I'm hoping we can try to sell it ourselves, since this market it's the best to sell a house.  Hoping for some heavenly intervention, but it's all on his time i guess.  Updates to come.
