This is the first year that we have gone out and done something for new years eve. Usually we're at Aaron's house playing games and having fun. This year we went to a Utah State b-ball game against Wyoming. Every year, the company that my FIL works for, caters the game and you can go and get food before and then the tickets are free as well. So we headed up there and had a good time. The game was awesome going into overtime where the Aggies won. The kids loved being out with the family, but Kaylee was deathly affraid of Big BLue, the aggie mascot, which is a big bull. We asked her why she didn't like him and she said it was b/c he had a ring in his nose. I guess that seems reasonable:)
We got home about 10:45pm and then played "Don't quote me", which gives you a quote and then clues to guess who said it. It was fun, but some of the questions were really hard. The countdown came upon us too quickly and we barely made it out to the front room with sparkling cider for everyone, but were able to yell Happy NEw year! The kids were up till about 12:30am and then they both crashed. We stayed up till 2am playing the game.
Some new years thoughts for 2009:
1. We'll have a new baby enter our family this year (june)- we'll find out what we're having this month:)
2. Jordan, Aaron's brother, will leave on a mission to Spain!
3. Bryce will turn 2 in feb.
4. Kaylee will turn 5 in may and start Kindergarten this year!! (that's crazy!)
5. i'll turn 27.
6. Aaron's mom will turn 60 and Char will turn 30 (big years for these gals!)
Things I would like to do this year:
1. get the tile done in the bathroom and entry way and possibly get some of the downstairs bathroom done. ( i guess that's more of Aaron's job, but i'd still like to see it done:)
2. Finish decorating the house (curtains in the front room and get the kids room done)
3. When summer comes, get the back yard in better condition, so the kids can play.
4. Exercise more often (this one is difficult, b/c right now that's not so much a priority, but after baby comes, then it will be :)
5. Read my Book of Mormon more (anything is better than what i've done) this has always been a hard one for me.
6. Continue to read the Ensign each month- i have loved doing this one!
7. Continue to write in my journal
8. Start a garden this year! ( i never thought i'd say that, but i'm excited to try it this year and see what I can grow. It'll be nice to have those things handy)
9. Try to be a better mom. Work on the patience and come up with fun things to do w/ the kids:)
Have you made your New Year's resolutions???
